For the past 2 years, alongside dealing with the challenges of the pandemic, we have seen a surge in the volume, sophistication and high value extortion from cyber criminals. No longer are we only subjected to large scale ‘spray and prey’ attacks hoping to land a few unsuspecting victims, we now face sustained, well-funded, long-term predators looking to maximise financial and intellectual property gain.
2022 is the year we, the cybersecurity professionals of APAC, unite together to fightback. To be successful we must come together and unite across government, the private sector, education, security partners and vendors to deliver world-class integrated solutions that deliver the best protection possible for all our stakeholders.
Join us at Mimecast APAC Connect 2022, where local and global leaders will share a vision on the role of governments across the region, hear from some of APAC’s leading CISOs about their experiences and explore how Mimecast and its API partners can help you fightback against cyber crime.
Malcolm Turnbull AC, 29th Prime Minister of Australia
Malcolm Turnbull will discuss the way in which cybersecurity challenge has intensified with the latest geopolitical tensions; Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and growing rivalry between China and the United States and her allies. He will link the personal, practical and political and describe how we need to act locally and globally to combat the rising threat. This means greater awareness and collaboration between firms and governments, and at the global level greater preparedness to attribute cyber attacks and name, shame and where possible penalise those responsible.

Dan Gregory, Co-Founder - The Behaviour Report
Cyber Security for your "Biological Hardware".
Cyber security is increasing less of a software issue and much more of a behavioural challenge. In other words, we need to increase the security of our “biological hardware” - the people who make up our teams, customers and communities.
This will require those more comfortable with programming machines and writing protocols to increase their psychological intelligence and their capacity for empathy and influence.
In this exciting and inspiring presentation, Dan Gregory will explain three behavioural trends that make the human side of cyber security so critical as well as three strategies for how we can increase engagement, compliance and, ultimately, the performance of our security as a whole.

For security teams on the front lines and those of us in the business of stopping cyberattacks and breaches, 2021 provided no rest for the weary. In the face of massive disruption brought about by the COVID- driven social, economic and technological shifts of 2020, adversaries refined their tradecraft to become even more sophisticated and brazen. We discuss key data points and how our industry is combatting the adversarial plague.
When the scales are tipped in an attacker's favour and teams don't have the time to do it all, traditional SecOps approaches to implement detection and response capabilities can add to the chaos.
In this session, we will explore the necessary evolution of detection and response, moving past SIEM, to fulfill the desire for something better. You'll learn how XDR, powered by unique collaborators like Rapid7 and Mimecast can give you the freedom to focus on what matters most.
Michael Ferguson, Netskope SSE Evangelist, will talk about how the new security architecture of Security Services Edge will provide businesses with outcomes and capabilities we haven't had before. During his session Michael Ferguson will discuss the potential of Context Based Policies to deliver Zero Trust Frameworks, AI/ML to assist your team in protecting your digital assets in the cloud, and how cloud based access doesn't need to have a trade-off in performance, experience or security.

When will we get cybersecurity herd immunity in Australia? How can we use aptitude to measure skills potential and set ourselves for training success?
Can Quantum future-proof or potentially unhinge our digital systems? And why aren’t hackers like Angelina Jolie? Let’s walk through the status quo and challenge our ideas of what cybersecurity looks like from a leadership perspective. Challenge current thinking and recognise what pathways we have that we can start down now to ensure that corporate Australia can lead the charge and help secure our sovereign systems.
